This chart illustrates the institutional affiliations of the authors of the top 25 most-shared climate papers of 2024, broken down by continent.
It shows that 85% of authors of the most-mentioned climate papers of 2024 are affiliated with institutions from the global north, whereas only two authors are from Africa.
The findings come from Carbon Brief’s full analysis of the 25 most featured climate-related papers of 2024, which was published last week.
